Most arts organizations in the Valley are small, volunteer led, and often, volunteer staffed. They have small budgets and limited staff resources. For this reason, the Arts Council has prepared a roster of programs and services to meet members’ needs and progressively advance the organizations mission. The following programs and services are offered to professionals, organizations, and volunteers who belong to the RGV Arts Council: • Monthly Meetings – The RGV Arts Council meets once a month to bring together members for networking and artistic development in the community. • Resources – The RGV Arts Council offers a variety of resources for artists and arts organizations including workshops and a series of leaflets from our resource library. Workshops are informational seminars that provide beneficial tools and techniques for success in the arts community. Workshops are free to members of the RGV Arts Council. • Grants Program – Since it’s inception, the Council has awarded $10,600 in grants to local artists and arts organizations. The Council awards grants to artists or organizations executing projects that will culturally benefit the community and expand the development of the arts in the Rio Grande Valley. • Events – The RGV Arts Council provides the community with several events each year. • All-Valley Events Calendar – The RGV Arts Council provides an events calendar featuring arts events from around the Rio Grande Valley. The All-Valley Events Calendar is updated regularly and will be available for viewing by all on this website.
